Native Nashville Homes: Real Estate Talk from the Comfort of My Laptop: Vote in the Presidential Election 2012!

Vote in the Presidential Election 2012!

Vote in Today's Presidential Election 2012

Vote in the Presidential Election 2012!

For those of you who know me, you know that I vote as an "Independent".  In Presidential Elections and other elections, I vote for whomever I feel is going to best lead this country, state, county or city.

In today's Presidential Election, I voted for Romney.  Four years ago I voted for Obama.

I have heard a LOT of opinions on my [non] stance.  I truly would vote as a Libertarian if I thought that a Libertarian could win a Presidential Election.  But we seem stuck with the two party system.  I believe in parts of each platform so it's hard to choose.

Will we see a change in the next four years in our economy, our states, our lives?  Most likely we will.  Will this be directly related to the President who will currently be in office?  Probably not.  I have a tendency to think that the effects of a President occur much further down the line, NOT while they are in office.  Am I right?  Maybe, maybe not.  So much of what we hear today is spin and this makes it hard to tell!

As a proud ancestor of Susan B. Anthony, I do encourage all to go out and vote, particularly women.  Women, both en masse and individually, CAN AND DO MAKE A DIFFERENCE.  So don't be afraid to get out there and vote for what you believe in.

If this is your first time to vote, it may be a little awkward and scary.  You may feel stupid while looking at the screen.  You may feel like you are taking too long.  Just relax.  There are volunteers who can help you with the process.  If there aren't any of those helpful volunteers, you will still be able to make it through.  If you didn't realize that you will also be voting for Senators and House Representatives and local officials and local amendments, then let this be a learning process.  Next time you will be prepared.

I am fiercely proud of being a citizen of the United States and will continue to vote in each Presidential Election.  I encourage you all to do the same!
