Native Nashville Homes: Real Estate Talk from the Comfort of My Laptop: January 2009

The Impending Inauguration - I'm So Excited... Are You???

Today I am really excited.  About tomorrow, that is!  January 20, 2009 will go down in the history books as an extra special year.  The year that Barack Obama was elected as the very first African-American President of the United States!

I can only imagine what's going on in Washington D.C. right now as people are preparing for this unbelievable event!  I am following loads of twitter folks to see what they are up to and how they are getting ready.  From food to fashion, the excitement is absolutely contagious!

Now here in Nashville, I was able to see the excitement in my native city on November 4, 2008 when the ballots were cast.  There were people lining the streets waving signs, people in their cars were honking and waving, and a general sense of enthusiastic hope.

Since then, things have simmered down again.  But with the inauguration tomorrow Nashville decided to put on its first ever Inaugural Ball!  It will be held tomorrow night (Tuesday, January 20, 2009) at 7:00 p.m. at the Millennium Maxwell House.  Tickets are $100 and will include a buffet style meal.  All proceeds will go to 21 selected non-profit community organizations and programs.

I have heard that there will be life-sized screens broadcasting the inauguration, but I can't remember where I heard that!  Anyway, if you get a wild hair and want to come, then please call 615.569.3010 for tickets!
